Europa are currently seeking a Front of House Team Leader (FHTL) to oversee the day to day running of the Front of House cleaning operation.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Purpose of the job:
• To lead the Front of House cleaning team and undertake day to day leadership and delivery of housekeeping services supporting operational delivery at Victoria Centre.
• To provide the Front of House focal point for the centre which includes compliance and audit relationships liaising with the ESC and external bodies as required.
• To support the ESC with the cleaning budget and maximise the utilisation of internal manpower resources whilst minimising dependency on use of agency staff.
• To manage excellent relationships with our client, suppliers and customers.
• To lead, recruit, develop and retrain cleaning staff to deliver quality services in the most efficient and effective manner and achieve a "One Team" approach within the business.
• To ensure that the Continuous Improvement Process is an integral part of service delivery increasingly adding value to both the business and our client.
• Provide the ESC on a monthly basis with a formal report capturing operational, financial and staffing issues.
• Completion of all monthly reporting systems to include KPI's / client daily log and incident reports.
• Work closely and support the other cleaning Team Leaders / ESC and deputise for all as required.
• Ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are followed as per company policies and procedures which will include accident reporting / investigation, delivery of toolbox talks, maintenance of statutory and non statutory records etc.
• Support and work closely with the site Customer Services and Security teams.
• Management of staff rotas ensuring efficient use of team at all times.
• Management of the cleaning equipment, consumables and materials.
• Daily monitoring of cleaning standards throughout the Front of House areas ensuring team proactively respond to all tasks as required.
• Ensure that all chemical and cleaning solutions are used correctly in line with manufactures and company operating procedures.
• Maximise recycling opportunities working closely with the other cleaning team leaders to ensure all recycling opportunities are explored.
• Ensure the teams are BICSc trained, managing the ongoing refresher training program in line with the central Learning and Development team / ESC.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
Key Accountabilities
• To continuously review and introduce cleaning best practice across Front of House and throughout the demise of the shopping centre.
• To own and deliver the range of cleaning services required to meet / exceed the customer requirements and add valued support to the management and delivery of the operational services.
• To enhance the relationship with the customer and ensure the appropriate and timely response to all cleaning issues and events.
• To ensure that all relevant records are held and updated as required.
• To support the management and forecast spend of agency related costs.
Team
• To manage the people resources effectively and efficiently to deliver the required services.
• To set objectives for direct reports and review quarterly. Ensure same approach and mechanisms for all staff within area of responsibility.
• Completion and regular reviews of the Personal Development Plans (PDP's) for the team.
• To ensure excellent communication with the team and motivation for all staff.
• To ensure all new starters receive a formal induction and site specific training
• To ensure objectives, performance reviews and Toolbox Talks are completed as per standing company policy.
• To ensure all staff understand business and customer requirements, operational and financial performance through implementing standing company policy.
• To identify training needs and ensure needs are met and results evaluated to assess business impact for all staff.
• To ensure that specialist support and all company resources are utilised in the most efficient and effective manner.
• To reduce labour turnover by proactively managing people issues in co-operation with other internal departments
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
• Successful track record of delivering solutions to internal client base
• Substantial operational cleaning supervision experience.
• Member of British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc)
Desirable:
• Professional or further qualification in Supervision.
• BICSc trainer / assessor
• IOSH Qualified
COMPETENCIES
• Must have highly developed influencing skills and a successful track record of supervising a team.
• Ability to focus on best practice, the Team Leader will use his/her creative approach and personality to influence at all levels, leading his/her team to meet demanding targets and deadlines.
• Substantial experience in the supervision of people, including selection and training,
• Experience within teams where motivation and development have been key drivers.
• Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and a proven ability to lead teams effectively
• Knowledge, understanding and experience of the principles, processes and outcomes of working with Quality Assurance systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to articulate clearly and credibly with the client, senior managers and all staff.
• Computer literate
• Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility
